Our final sections ... so sad! Sections 12 through 16 are just as important as sections 1 - 11, however, they are NOT mandatory. Although many sections are redundant, section 15 is key in determining Prop 65 compliance. Remember Prop 65 is a Californian based law established in 1986 to protect the environment and citizens from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, and many other ailments. Learn more here.
This is also a tricky section, because of the 900+ chemicals listed on the Prop 65 website only roughly 200 of them have Safe Harbor Limits. Meaning supplier self-regulation is happening on roughly 700 chemicals. If you are concerned about whether or not your supplier is Prop 65 compliant (these chemicals do not only effect Californians) be sure to ask them how they are determining their self-regulation percentages.
